Notes
- This weapon's name is likely an homage to the song "Hammer Smashed Face" by Cannibal Corpse, whose vocalist goes by the stage name "Corpsegrinder".
Regarding Tenacity:
- If a weapon action misses, using Tenacity does not trigger its effects.
- As Tenacity deals weapon damage even if an attack misses, it can trigger many on-hit effects from equipment. For example, from the Gloves of Power, the Callous Glow Ring, weapon coatings, or any infusion from the Ring of Elemental Infusion.
Regarding Grand Slam:
- This action does not count as an attack for the purposes of Extra Attack and requires the wielder's full Action.
Bugs
Regarding Tenacity:
- As Horde Breaker (Melee) rolls invisible, zero-damage weapon attacks against all enemies in the Horde Breaker area of effect, Tenacity can be prompted to trigger against them even if the first attack hits. It is therefore possible to score 2 hits in one attack: the full attack against the original Horde Breaker target and a Tenacity hit against another target.
Regarding Grand Slam:
- Since this attack does not involve an attack roll, it does not benefit from certain bonus damage sources which check the attack roll type despite listing the additional damage on the tooltip. These include:
- Despite the tooltip warning, Large and bigger sized targets are pushed back.
- The combat log erroneously shows the formula for spell save DC in the saving throw, often showing a calculation that does not add up to the final DC. The actual value is calculated using weapon action DC.
