Excavacation's almost complete. I've devoted every drop of blood, every bead of sweat I have to this project, and for what? Gerringothe's not yet dropped a single coin, but she's got no shortage of threatening stares.

I should never have turned from the guild. Even if I begged to return, they'd be in their right to refuse me. But I'm not above asking, once the dust is cleared.
