Soul Ascension is a level 6 evocation spell. It is available to Raphael while he is in his Ascended Fiend Ascended Fiend form. It creates an area that, while inside, lets his cambions deal Hellfire damage, and causes Necrotic damage to enemies. It cannot be learned by party members.

Description

Create a column of writhing souls that transforms allied Cambions into Hellfire Cambions Hellfire Cambions and deals 6d10NecroticNecrotic to any non-fiend caught inside.

Notes

  • Raphael casts this spell as a reaction to being attacked (no matter if it is a melee attack, ranged attack, or a spell), but it does not consume his  Reaction. Instead, it costs him 1 charge of Legendary Action: Soul Ascension Legendary Action: Soul Ascension.
  • Raphael only casts this spell if the attacker does not already stand in the Writhing Souls area created by the previous casting of this spell.
  • Every time Raphael recasts this spell, the previous area of Writhing Souls is removed.

Bugs

  • Silence Silence does not prevent Raphael from casting this spell despite technically requiring a verbal component.
