Small Spider's Only Dialog Option is: Attack.

This page says that regardless of which spider is spoken to, only the Large spider will respond and can be convinced to attack the goblins. This is false as of the current iteration of the game.

I was disguised as a female drow, branded, safe within the Shattered Sanctum. I spoke with the small spider which basically told me that they didn't like me and to answer them or die. My only dialogue option was 1. Attack. I am using no mods. The goblins were at the gate. They all became temporarily hostile. As a Wizard, even with +12 temp HP, I easily was out-matched and died, losing my solo honour mode run.

I was hoping to use this wiki as a good reference but either it has holes in its information or the game is far too dynamic at this point. 173.22.82.231 02:56, 15 September 2026 (CEST)

The dialogue the Smaller Giant Spider uses via Speak with Animals (which I presume you used) is Goblin/GOB_GiantSpider_Tiny and has actually four options except the straight attack. However, two of them have DROW-False tag, while the other two have LOLTHDROWELF tag. Without SwA, there are two Animal Handling checks, and both, again, are tagged similarly "against" drow characters. As you were using a Drow disguise, none of these applied. All these options would allow you to roll a Persuasion/Animal Handling checks, correspondingly, to avoid confrontation.
