The Undead Bane

The Undead Bane is an uncommon +1 Greataxe that deals additional Slashing damage against Fiends and Undead and grants its wielder the Profane Scourge weapon action.

Wielded by the indomitable Ser Lexia. Although her eagerness to destroy evil in all its forms was constant, she often took time to make little gifts for her friends.

The holder of this item gains:

Slay the Wicked: This weapon deals an additional 1d6⁠⁠Slashing damage against Fiends and Undead.

Weapon actions

If you have proficiency, equip in main hand to gain:

 Cleave (): Swing your weapon in a large arc to attack up to 3 enemies at once. They each take half the damage your weapon usually deals. ( Recharge: Short rest.)

 Lacerate (): Slash at your target's vital points to make it  Bleed. ( Recharge: Short rest.)

 Prepare (): Spend 6 m (20 ft) of your movement to deal an additional Strength modifier⁠⁠PhysicalDRS damage (minimum 1) on each successful melee weapon attack for the rest of the turn. ( Recharge: Short rest.)

Special weapon actions

This weapon also grants the following:

 Profane Scourge (): Strike with subjugating fury, adding your proficiency bonus to the damage roll. If you hit a fiend or undead creature, deal an additional 2d6⁠⁠SlashingDRS damage and possibly  Bane it. ( Recharge: Short rest.)

Slay the Wicked is applied to all melee weapon attacks while having the source weapon equipped.

Regarding Profane Scourge:

Against targets other than fiends or undead, you still get the proficiency bonus⁠⁠Slashing damage, but neither the 2d6⁠⁠Slashing damage, nor the  Bane effect.

Bugs included from Slay the Wicked:

Due to the way the bonus damage is applied to attacks against Fiends and Undead, the bonus damage can never critically hit even if the attack itself does.

Regarding Profane Scourge:

A saving throw roll is still made by non-fiend/non-undead creatures, but otherwise has no effect.
- Due to a bug in the reactions processing,  Bane is applied even if the target is neither fiend or undead when the target fails this saving throw because of a  Bend Luck,  Cosmic Omen of Woe: Saving Throw,  Cutting Words, or  Portent reaction.
