Jump to navigation Jump to search

Metamagic: Twinned Spell is a toggleable passive feature used by Sorcerers. This ability allows Sorcerers to target two creatures with certain Spells.

Description

Spells that only target 1 creature can target an additional creature.

Costs 1  Sorcery Point per Spell Slot level used. Cantrips also cost 1  Sorcery Point.

For spells that don't shoot a projectile, the targets need to be close enough together.

Notes

  • When twin casting a spell, two separate targets must be chosen. The same creature cannot be targeted twice by the same twinned spell.
  • This passive can be used with  Drakethroat Glaive to enchant two weapons (requires 3  Sorcery Points).
  • The following spells cannot be twinned:
    • Chain Lightning Chain Lightning. However, this restriction does not apply to the version of Chain Lightning granted by  Markoheshkir.
    • Summoning spells.
    • Spells that are able to target multiple creatures, even if those spells are only used to target one creature. This includes spells such as Magic Missile Magic Missile and Eldritch Blast Eldritch Blast (after 5th level).
    • Spells that affect an area. This includes spells like Ice Knife Ice Knife which are single target but with an additional area of effect. The only exceptions are Hail of Thorns Hail of Thorns and Lightning Arrow Lightning Arrow.
    • A spell that targets the caster themselves, even if it only affects the caster.

Bugs

  • Due to the lack of a TargetRadius check for projectile spells, Twinned Spell is compatible with the ranged version of certain spells while also being incompatible with the melee version. An example of this is Ensnaring Strike Ensnaring Strike.

Brief preview

Can use sorcery points to target multiple creatures with spells normally targeting one.
