Challenge to Duel - not a bug

I don't agree that Challenge to Duel is intended as a Spell in the D&D sense. (Almost everything is a "spell" in LarianCode; that means nothing.) If Challenge to Duel is a Spell then every weapon action is a Spell, and we'd need to list them all as bugs on every possible Spell interaction. JRandall0308 (talk) 14:46, 4 June 2026 (CEST)

'Challenge to Duel' is 'Compelled Duel' Paladin 1st level enchantment spell missing IsSpell flag.

Yep, that is the issue. When Larian made Challenge to Duel they used Compelled Duel as a parent, removed IsSpell, but did not null the Level and School fields. That should be a bug listed on Challenge to Duel's page, not here. Rydiak (talk) 14:56, 4 June 2026 (CEST)

But everything in the game is a sloppy copy of something else because that is apparently how Larian devs do their jobs. I simply don't believe the *intent* of Challenge to Duel was "this is a magic spell like what wizards cast!". Instead I believe the intent was that it's some kind of non-magic taunt you do with the dagger itself.

But anyway. If it's a bug then yes, it's a bug on CTD itself, not on Vivacious Cloak. JRandall0308 (talk) 15:27, 4 June 2026 (CEST)

Well it *is* listed in Challenge to Duel page, that's why I didn't understand why it was restored after I removed from Vivacious Cloak passive. As it was restored, I just moved from Notes to Bugs, but I don't believe it should be here at all. LostAccount2099 (talk) 15:40, 4 June 2026 (CEST)
