Wall of Fire is a level 4 evocation spell. It allows spellcasters to create a long, fiery barrier, damaging anything in the area.

Description

Create a blazing wall of fire,  Burning anyone who dares stand too close. Deals ⁠Fire to anything that moves into or ends its turn in the area.

• Can be removed with the  Help action, using a Healing Potion or by becoming  Wet.
• Immune from if  Wet.
•  Dip action can be used on Burning characters or objects.

How to learn

Classes:

• Class level 7: Druid, Sorcerer, Wizard, Light Domain (Domain Spell), The Fiend, and Circle of the Land (Desert)
• Class level 10: Bard (via Magical Secrets)

Granted by items:

• Markoheshkir ( Recharge: Short rest)

Other ways to learn:

• Wizards with a Level 4 Spell Slot can transcribe a  Scroll of Wall of Fire to their spellbooks.

Notes

• This spell creates a wall from the first targeted point to the second targeted point, a distance of up to 36 m (120 ft). The wall is 3 m (10 ft) wide.
• Does not break stealth.
• The incantation for Wall of Fire is Ira Et Dolor, Latin for "Anger and pain".

Bugs

• The spell save DC for damage received when ending a turn inside the wall is fixed at 10.
• The upcast description does not reference fire damage, and merely states the spell deals "an additional 1d8 per level."
• Concentration is not broken when the wall duration ends after 10 turns, creating a permanent source of Concentration for  Strange Conduit Ring.
• Wall of Fire actually damages creatures within 2 m (7 ft).
