Altar to Shar

The Altar to Shar is an environmental object in the Gauntlet of Shar where the party can pray to  Shar in order to receive the  Nightsinger's Favour.

Involvement

If interacted with, each party member can pray at the altar. By passing a Religion check they can receive a buff. To do so, the interacting party must attempt one of the options below:

• [SHADOWHEART] Offer prayer and devotion to the Dark Lady.
  • [SHADOWHEART] [RELIGION] Silently swear your body and soul to Shar. Give yourself over entirely. (DC 14 )
• [EVIL CLERIC] Shar is not your mistress, but she is worthy of respect. Offer her a prayer.
• [CLERIC OF SELÛNE] [PALADIN OF SELÛNE] Selûne's rival, but also her sister. Offer a prayer of reconciliation.
• [RELIGION] Pray at the altar. (DC 14)
• [WARLOCK] [DECEPTION] Feign a prayer while your patron thieves the altar's magic. (DC 14) (if not Shadowheart)

All other options – including being a  Cleric or  Paladin of  Selûne, failing the ability check, or  Shadowheart having abandoned  Shar – receive the  Shar-Stricken debuff instead. However, if they are  Disguised prior, characters who are Clerics or Paladins of Selûne can still safely pray at Shar's altar and obtain her blessing, rather than her curse.
