Deflect Missiles is a Monk passive feature/reaction that allows them to reduce the damage of an incoming ranged attack and potentially return it to the attacker.

Description

Use your reaction to reduce the damage from a ranged weapon attack by 1d10 + your Dexterity Modifier + your monk level.

Reduce the damage from a ranged weapon attack by 1d10 + your Dexterity modifier + your monk level.

If the damage is reduced to 0, you can use a Ki Point to Deflect the MissileDeflect the Missile.

You can only reduce damage from the attack - any additional effects can't be negated.

Reaction: Deflect Missiles: Redirect

Catch a projectile from a ranged weapon attack and shoot it back at your attacker using Deflect Missiles: RedirectDeflect Missiles: Redirect.

Notes

  • Reducing damage does not negate any other effects of the attack. Conditions such as Gaping WoundsGaping Wounds from Piercing StrikePiercing Strike are still applied, even if the damage is reduced to 0.
  • This reaction works against any attack that uses a ranged weapon attack roll.

Bugs

  • Damage does not need to be reduced to 0 in order to redirect the attack.
  • Against ranged attacks that fire multiple projectiles, such as Multiattack (Ranged)Multiattack (Ranged) or dual wielded Hand Crossbows, only the last attack can be deflected to reduce its damage. None of the projectiles can be thrown back with Deflect Missiles: RedirectDeflect Missiles: Redirect.
