Swires' Sledboard is a very rare shield that grants the wearer Force Conduit at the start of combat. It also grants Shield Bash.

A gnomish adventurer once used this to outpace his enemies down a slope.

Where to find

Notes

  • The runes inscribed on the interior of the shield translate to "Clan Duergar" in the DethekDethek script. The 3D model was originally created by artist Jane Katsubo as part of the Duergar asset set (see concept art below).
  • One of several references to the gnome adventurer Lupperdiddle Swires. Others appear in the descriptions of the Potion of Glorious Vaulting, Arsonist's Oil and Swiresy Shoes. "Swires" is a reference to the Discworld books.

Regarding Shield Conduit:

  • Shield Conduit actually applies 2 turns of Force Conduit per turn, not 1 as the tooltip implies. However, as Force Conduit loses duration at the start of each turn, it appears that only 1 turn is applied.

Regarding Shield Bash:

  • This reaction triggers the class action Shield BlowShield Blow against the attacker.

Bugs

Regarding Shield Conduit:

  • Shield Conduit is missing code found in other Force Conduit passives that applies a visual effect on the wielder when receiving turns of Force Conduit.

Regarding Shield Bash:

  • The description of this passive incorreclty states it requires a Dexterity saving throw; it instead requires a Strength saving throw.
