Notes
- Elemental Age's damage bonus can be applied to other weapons if the Flail of Ages is equipped in the off-hand slot when cast. The condition stays on the other weapon even when Flail of Ages is unequipped. It is removed after a long rest.
- Elements of an Epoch can trigger its effects via Tenacity when combined with an Acid Infusion, Cold Infusion, or Fire Infusion from the Ring of Elemental Infusion.[verify]
- The Flail of Ages is also found in . The description of the item in Baldur's Gate 3 refers to the events of the previous storyline.
Regarding Elements of an Epoch:
- Multiple conditions from Elements of an Epoch can be applied each hit if the weapon does multiple types of elemental damage. For example, Acid damage can be added with the Caustic Band or Fire damage can be added by Dipping the weapon in fire. However, the Burning and Chilled conditions are mutually exclusive. Applying one removes the other so combining Fire and Cold damage on the flail is counterproductive.
- Each condition has its own DC 13 Constitution Saving Throw.
Regarding Tenacity:
- If a weapon action misses, using Tenacity does not trigger its effects.
- As Tenacity deals weapon damage even if an attack misses, it can trigger many on-hit effects from equipment. For example, from the Gloves of Power, the Callous Glow Ring, weapon coatings, or any infusion from the Ring of Elemental Infusion.
Bugs
- When dual-wielding a flail or morningstar with a non-Tenacity weapon using the Dual Wielder feat, Tenacity can be triggered by missing an attack with the non-Tenacity weapon, dealing Bludgeoning damage regardless of the weapon used.
- Some non-Tenacity weapons can trigger their on-hit effects via Tenacity as well, such as the Ritual Dagger and Loviatar's Scourge.
Regarding Tenacity:
- As Horde Breaker (Melee) rolls invisible, zero-damage weapon attacks against all enemies in the Horde Breaker area of effect, Tenacity can be prompted to trigger against them even if the first attack hits. It is therefore possible to score 2 hits in one attack: the full attack against the original Horde Breaker target and a Tenacity hit against another target.
