Where to find
- Shattered Sanctum X: 338 Y: -21: Carried by Abdirak
Notes
- If this mace is purchased from Abdirak through his barter screen, it transfers back to him automatically when he needs to use it.
Regarding Willing Whip:
- The area of effect is centred on the creature that is hit, and the radius is 2 m (7 ft).
- Due to the resistance granted by this passive, the wielder takes only 0~3Necrotic damage (fractional damage is rounded down). However, nearby allies take full damage.
- Helldusk Armour effectively negates all Necrotic damage otherwise inflicted upon the wielder by this passive.
- Attacks which deal multiple instances of damage, such as the various smite spells or Booming Blade, trigger multiple instances of Willing Whip.
- Similarly, weapon attacks that target multiple creatures, such as Tiger's Bloodlust, cause this passive to activate separately on each successful attack, potentially causing the wielder and all nearby creatures to take significant damage.
- This feature is particularly useful against groupings of low-hit-point enemies that may otherwise have many opportunities to score critical hits against the party.
- If Lae'zel is in the party while fighting the murder of Shadow-Cursed Ravens on the Ruined Battlefield in Act Two at X: 30 Y: 114, the area of effect damage from this passive may easily earn the Soldier's Pentacrush Inspiration, while taking little to no damage in the process.
Bugs
Regarding Willing Whip:
- Some damage riders like Lightning Charges and Callous Glow (from Callous Glow Ring) are added both to regular attacks and to the Willing Whip effect, so they also hurt the mace wielder.
- Creatures close to the one struck by this weapon take damage every time, but those on the border of its AoE radius sometimes do not. This is especially noticeable with wide area attacks, such as Slashing Flourish (Melee).
- When dual-wielding Loviatar's Scourge with a flail or morningstar using the Dual Wielder feat, Tenacity can be triggered by missing an attack with the mace, dealing Bludgeoning damage and triggering Willing Whip.
