Maghtew Budj is a member of the Followers of the Absolute. He is in the sanctum north of the Barracks in the Mind Flayer Colony.

Involvement[edit section | visual editor]

Maghtew is being rallied by his wife Kressa BonedaughterKressa Bonedaughter along with his fellow cultists Hairy HenryHairy Henry and IronfingerIronfinger. If a party member approaches, Kressa casts Myrkul's GiftMyrkul's Gift, which gives her and the other cultists 10 temporary hit points.

If left alone, he moves to his room in the north-eastern part of the barracks, greeting the party with "May death claim you soon" and "Your bones be blessed" if spoken to.

A journal he penned is in his room. It reveals he is Kressa Bonedaughter's husband and that they were formerly country surgeons from NashkelNashkel. It details how, after joining the Cult of Myrkul, Kressa became obsessed with her tadpole research as well as a 'pet' she used for her experiments - and how all of this estranged him from his wife. He attempted to bring her back to her senses by telling BalthazarBalthazar of this 'pet'. While this resulted in Balthazar shipping it to the Nautiloid, it only entrenched her desire for a thrall of her own.
