Mask of Vengeance (Overgrown Tunnel)

Not to be confused with Mask of Vengeance (The Blushing Mermaid)

The Mask of Vengeance is a Drow Half-Elf member of  Auntie Ethel's flock. She is in the Overgrown Tunnel inside the Riverside Teahouse / Gnarled Teahouse in Act One.

Involvement

Act One

Like the other Masks, the Mask of Vengeance is initially hostile by virtue of wearing a  Whispering Mask, placing her under the  Charming effect of  Part of the Flock.

If she is encountered after Ethel is dead, she is no longer hostile, but her sanity is broken. She remains hostile if Ethel is defeated but the party accept the offer of  Hag's Hair and let Ethel escape.

Mask of Vengeance must succeed a DC 17  Wisdom saving throw at the start of each of her turns or become affected by Hag's Pawn. If she succeeds the save, she passes her turn without harming the party.

Put extra force behind your strike to possibly knock your enemy  Prone.

Lace your attack with all the vengeance hidden within you.

Target an enemy's hands with a non-lethal attack and possibly inflict  Weak Grip.

Creatures without weapons can't have Weak Grip.

Notes

• Her  Vengeful Strike can be made twice in one turn thanks to  Vengeful granting her an extra reaction.
• Although the  Vengeful tooltip states it only triggers "when attacked," Vengeful Strike reacts to anything that targets Mask of Vengeance within melee range, including spells.
