Martial Arts: Deft Strikes is a Monk passive feature that raises the minimum damage dealt with Monk weapons and unarmed attacks to 1d4⁠⁠Bludgeoning.

Description

Attacks with Monk Weapons and unarmed attacks deal 1d4⁠⁠Bludgeoning damage, unless their normal damage is higher.

At higher levels

• At Monk Level 3, the damage increases to 1d6⁠⁠Bludgeoning.
• At Monk Level 9, the damage increases to 1d8⁠⁠Bludgeoning.

Notes

• Monk weapons will deal whatever damage type they normally are, not bludgeoning. For example, a level 9 Monk will deal 1d8⁠⁠Piercing damage with a shortsword.
• Surprisingly, at 9th this ability is capable to upgrade even hand crossbows to 1d8⁠⁠Piercing, as long as the character is proficient with them.
• This ability does not upgrade the damage die for weapons dealing multi-dice damage, such as  Sickle (Redcap),  Sickle of BOOOAL, and  Twisted Oak Crook.
