Tomboldt the Pallid

Tomboldt the Pallid is a Lolth-Sworn Drow. He is on the second floor of Felogyr's Fireworks workshop in the Lower City of the Baldur's Gate, in Act Three of the game, and can be encountered while following the quest ⁠Investigate the Suspicious Toys.

Involvement

Tomboldt is the head of the secret explosives' production that hides behind the veneer of the pyrotechnics shop. He conducts his part of operations in a small room separated from the main laboratory by an open doorway, and is guarded by  Black Gauntlet Uva and several other cultists.

There are several documents on Tomboldt's desk:  Ledger of Production: Explosives and  Ledger of Production: Motivators. Also, in Tomboldt's pockets is a note titled  Installation Report. Collectively, these documents contain references to  Motivators and the Iron Throne, directing the party toward the ⁠Save the Gondians quest.

As the ⁠Investigate the Suspicious Toys quest cannot be ultimately resolved in a peaceful way, Tomboldt the Pallid joins the fight as soon as he notices any commotion, siding with other followers of  Bane and attacking the party along with other Felogyr's Fireworks employees.

If the spell misses, the target still takes half the initial damage, but no damage at the end of its next turn.
