Bering Gahorst stands in the middle of reception room in the Wyrm's Rock Fortress, waiting for his case to be brought on before a Flaming Fist investigator. He is accused of bumping a patriar while driving his cart on a road. Bering is very nervous about the upcoming trial and afraid of possible confinement. His sister

- Are they going to arrest us? What if they throw us in jail?
- Franchot
- Calm down, dear. It won't happen, I swear.
- Bering Gahorst
- Our cart barely grazed that patriar. He wasn't even hurt!
- Franchot
- That's why nothing's going to happen to us. We'll tell them what happened, and we'll be home in no time.
- Bering Gahorst
- You've been saying that for ages, and we're still here. What are they waiting for?
