Bering Gahorst stands in the middle of reception room in the Wyrm's Rock Fortress, waiting for his case to be brought on before a Flaming Fist investigator. He is accused of bumping a patriar while driving his cart on a road. Bering is very nervous about the upcoming trial and afraid of possible confinement. His sister Sister Franchot is trying to cheer him.
