Act Three

Fentamia Viney stands in the corner of reception room in the Wyrm's Rock Fortress. She is a lawyer, preparing to present her current case to a Flaming Fist investigator. While waiting, she practices a defensive speech with her clients,  Arborio Rolfin and  Civilian, but from time to time both let slip that they are guilty.

Idle banter

  Let's rehearse this one more time. Pretend I'm a Fist, and tell me what you were doing in the house.

• Civilian

  Well, your Fistliness, we broke down the door because it sounded like somebody was in trouble inside.

• Arborio Rolfin

  The house was on fire. We were rescuing people.

  I spoke to a witness who says you entered the house before the fire started.

• Civilian

  Who said that? I'll break their bloody legs!

  Err, what my friend means to say is that the witness must have been mistaken. Probably a drunk.
