Lord Portyr's Bodyguard

Lord Portyr's Bodyguard is a half-elven ranger who accompanies his master to the ceremony of ordaining  Enver Gortash as an Archduke of Baldur's Gate in Act Three.

Involvement

Lord Portyr's Bodyguard is in the mess hall, on the first floor of the Wyrm's Rock Fortress. He came with his master,  Duke Dillard Portyr, and while waiting for his lord to descend from Audience Hall, spends time with retinue members of other patriars.

If a party member speaks with him, he reproaches them for their behavior (or maybe outlook), unstately for an official event. He says that his master might return from the ceremony at any moment.

If the party confronts Gortash, Lord Portyr's Bodyguard, along with all other invited guests and their retinue, are slaughtered in the Audience hall.

Shoot a volley of thorns. The thorns deal weapon damage to the target and then explode. The explosion deals an additional 1d10⁠⁠Piercing damage to the target and surrounding creatures. On miss, the thorns still explode. On save, targets still take half damage from the explosion.
