Unarmoured Defence is a Barbarian passive feature that adds a character's Constitution modifier to their Armour Class in addition to their Dexterity modifier when not wearing armour.
Description
Your body is as resilient as any armour. While not wearing armour, you add your Constitution Modifier to your Armour Class.
Wearing Heavy Armour impedes all positive effects of your Rage. This effect does not stack with Mage Armour.
How to learn
Classes:
- Class level 1: Barbarian
Used by creatures:
- Abby, Arthus, Baff Elkhorn, Bearclaw, Bedi, Bombasto, Bor, Dror Ragzlin, Eldra Luthrinn, Garmor, Gleeful Clong, Haseid, Inku Neza, Kled, Lady Flux, Lobo Denysse, Lord Jannath's Bodyguard, Mask of Vengeance (The Blushing Mermaid), Morgya, Rage Queller, Shiv Dahlia, Tusgront, Ulma, Vol, Zombie Dror Ragzlin
Notes
- The normal base Armour Class is
10 + Dexterity modifier, while this changes it to10 + Dexterity modifier + Constitution modifier.- Characters with this passive still receive bonuses from other sources that do not change their base armour class like +1 AC robes, Bracers of Defence, Shield of Faith, etc.
- Helmets, Gloves and Footwear marked as Light, Medium or Heavy Armour count as armour, and prevent Unarmoured Defence from working.
- This works while wearing a Shield, unlike its Monk counterpart.
- Mage Armour, Draconic Resilience, Unarmoured Defence (Barbarian), Unarmoured Defence (Monk) and Barkskin all change a character's base armour class and therefore do not stack.
- If a character has multiple of these they only benefit from the one that gives the most Armour Class.
- Unarmoured Defence works while in Wild Shape as long as the user has no armour equipped in any slot before they transform.
- This effect only works on forms with a base Armour Class less than this passive gives.
