Act One[edit section | visual editor]

Marcoryl regularly patrols the Servants' Quarters in the Inner Sanctum. Of all the druids in the Grove, Marcoryl is the most isolationist, believing the tiefling refugees should be removed and the Rite of Thorns be performed. If Kagha Kagha tries to make amends in Investigate KaghaInvestigate Kagha, Marcoryl continues to endorse sealing off the Grove. Despite this, if Kagha stops the Rite, he joins the party in fighting the Shadow Druids.

Marcoryl and Loic Loic often discuss the ethics of violence. Their idle banter varies according to the outcomes of Investigate KaghaInvestigate Kagha, Raid the GroveRaid the Grove, and Save ArabellaSave Arabella.

  • Marcoryl
Ridiculous. We just let her run off! (If Kagha spares Arabella)
  • Loic
    She's a child.
  • Marcoryl
A devil child. One who tried to steal from us.
  • Loic
Yet she failed - that's what matters.

  • Loic
This will all be over, the ritual is almost finished.
  • Marcoryl
What if they try to steal from us? Again?
  • Loic
We've shown them once - we take grove law seriously.
  • Marcoryl
By letting that child escape without consequence? We might as well have lain down on the ground and let them trample over us.

  • Loic
I don't want blood on my hands.
  • Marcoryl
We have the right to defend our home.
  • Loic
So that's what you want? To kill innocents?
  • Marcoryl
I don't want to kill anyone. But I won't let the grove be harmed - not again.
