Nimbus

Nimbus is a shadow mastiff summoned via the Shadow Magic sorcerer's  Hound of Ill Omen ability.

Combat

 Ominous Bite ()

Damage: 3~18

3d6⁠Piercing

Bite a target and possibly place an  Omen on them.

 Melee: 1.5 m (5 ft)

 Umbral Tangle ()

Damage: 2~12

2d6⁠Necrotic

Trap your enemies in shadowy vines.

On a successful save, the target still takes half damage.

 Range: Self

 AoE: 3 m (10 ft) Radius

 Splinter Shadow ()

When you are attacked by a melee attack that does not deal Radiant damage, splinter off a piece of yourself to spawn a new version from the shadows.

Additionally, when moving adjacent to a friendly  Accursed Spectre, Nimbus gains the  Shadow Infusion condition which grants a special reaction from the spectre until the next long rest. The reaction is triggered when the summoner hits a target with a melee weapon attack.

Damage: 1~12 + modifiers

1d12 + Summoner's Charisma modifier⁠Necrotic

Materialise next to your summoner's victim.

 Range: 18 m (60 ft)

Notes

• Despite Ominous Bite being a weapon attack,  Elixir of the Colossus and other weapon damage modifiers don't apply to it. Instead, some elixirs which are effective on Nimbus are the  Elixir of Battlemage's Power,  Elixir of Bloodlust, and  Elixir of Vigilance.
• Although it is not specified anywhere, Nimbus can see in magical darkness. This means he does not suffer from  Blindness and attacks with advantage when fighting in the caster's  Darkness clouds.
