Smaller Giant Spider is in the Goblin Camp in Act One.

Smaller Giant Spider and their comrade, Larger Giant Spider, are held in the spider pits in the Shattered Sanctum. Same as the Larger Spider, the Smaller Spider wishes to eat the party, but unlike it, they can be only convinced not to attack:

Without Speak with Animals

If the interacting character is a Seldarine Drow (or  disguised as a Drow, which turns them in a Seldarine), the dialogue with the Lesser Giant Spider actually contains only the "Attack." option, which inevitably starts a fight with both spiders. ^[verify]

Unlike the dialogue with the Larger spider, talking to the Lesser Spider does not grant any companion approval, does not have the options to sic the spiders onto goblins, and thus cannot be used to earn the corresponding Charlatan inspiration.
