Lora, also known as Lora Bergauz,[2] is a human in Baldur's Gate, initially found inside the Basilisk Gate Barracks during Act Three. She is the mother of Vanra Vanra. Speaking to her can initiate the quest Save Vanra⁠Save Vanra.

Act Three[edit section | visual editor]

If spoken to at the Basilisk Gate Barracks, she provides the player character with the quest Save Vanra. If the party chooses options that assert their wish to help Lora, she provides details they can use to start their investigation, then departs from the barracks. If the party agrees to save Vanra, and has spoken with Captain Grisly about her side of the story, an option is unlocked to ask Lora about the details given by Captain Grisly in her home southwest of the Lower City Central Waypoint at X: -57 Y: -93.

Captain Grisly asks the party to kill Lora for 3000 gp 3000 gp. Rogues can ask for double the amount and Grisly agres. Killing Lora grants the agreed upon money as well as Veil of the Weird Veil of the Weird during Gather Your Allies⁠Gather Your Allies.

If Vanra is successfully saved and Lora is spoken with in her home again, she grants  Duellist's Prerogative and  Amulet of Windrider.

All of this only occurs if Ethel was denied access to Mayrina Mayrina in Act One. Otherwise, Lora and Vanra are in their house in the Lower City and have little to say other than berating the party for barging into their home.
