Involvement[edit section | visual editor]

Act Two[edit section | visual editor]

Last Light Inn[edit section | visual editor]

If the party enter the Shadow-Cursed Lands through Grymforge, Skywin is at the Last Light Inn, on the southern side of the inn, patrolling the stairway to the southern docks, and behind Quartermaster Talli'sQuartermaster Talli's tent.

After speaking with JaheiraJaheira inside the inn, Skywin moves to the bridge in front of the Last Light Inn with BranthosBranthos, ElindaleElindale, LassandraLassandra, and ManusManus. They wait for the party so they can move in to intercept and ambushambush a nearby Absolutist convoy and acquire their source of protectionsource of protection against the Shadow Curse. Accepting the mission results in Skywin and her squad of Harpers casting LightLight on their weapons and moving to the Ruined Battlefield, where they lay in wait for the Absolutist convoy. The party can go with the group immediately or catch up with them later, as the ambush site is marked on their map.

If the party speak with IsobelIsobel and trigger the fight with MarcusMarcus, Skywin will have already moved to the bridge, out of reach of the battle. If Isobel is not saved, Skywin turns into a Shadow-Cursed UndeadShadow-Cursed Undead.

Ambush[edit section | visual editor]

Talking to Branthos[4] at the ambush site commences the ambush and spawns in the encounter. Once Kar'nissKar'niss and the convoy arrive, the party can attack immediately or hang back. If they choose to stay hidden and keep watching, Kar'niss kills VezVez. From there, the party can either signal the Harpers or wait as they start the encounter themselves. After the fight, a Moonlantern can be found on the drider's corpse.

Alternatively, the party can convince Kar'niss to relinquish the Moonlantern and consign the convoy members to their fate as Shadow-Cursed UndeadShadow-Cursed Undead. Either way, Elindale and his squad then depart amiably and return to Last Light Inn.

If the party enter the Shadow-Cursed Lands through the Rosymorn Monastery Trail, a goblin greets the party and sends them to a rendezvous point to wait for Kar'niss and the convoy to guide them to Moonrise Towers, where the party can pass offpass off as True Souls. This starts Follow the ConvoyFollow the Convoy.

Kar'niss ferries the party, as well as the rest of the convoy to Moonrise. During the trek, Skywin, along with Branthos, Elindale, and Manus ambush the convoy. The party can choose to either turn on the convoy and help the Harpers, or protect the convoy in order to continue their cover as True Souls.

If the party are meeting the Harpers for the first time, and Branthos dies while siding with them, Skywin can tell the party to head to Last Light Inn, where they can obtain similar protection after speaking with Isobel. If they choose to remain with the convoy, Skywin turns hostile.

After the Ambush[edit section | visual editor]

If the party side with Skywin and he survives, Skywin moves to the southern coastline of the Last Light Inn, patrolling the same route as before the ambush, circling between the stairway to the southern side of the docks and the back of Quartermaster Talli's tent.

Assault Moonrise Towers[edit section | visual editor]

If Isobel is saved at the Last Light Inn, and the NightsongNightsong is freed from her cage and heads for Moonrise Towers, Skywin follows Jaheira there. However, she is killed during the fight against Absolute forces before the party arrive. Her corpse is in the Moonrise Towers Prison, surrounded by a Death ShepherdDeath Shepherd and a horde of NecromiteNecromites.

Notes and references[edit section | visual editor]

  1. Skywin lacks the features one would normally get from being an elf.
  2. Skywin has the wrong stat block for a ranger; despite being a DEX-based class and ranged NPC archetype, she has 16 STR, 11 DEX and 14 CON, making her a comically weak ranged combatant. This got fixed with Patch 8.
  3. Has an exact duplicate of her as a Shadow-Cursed UndeadShadow-Cursed Undead in the center X: 158 Y: -35 of Reithwin. The undead Skywin has the same appearance, outfit, and weapons as the original; yet this undead copy has the correct stat block for a ranged combatant: 12 STR, 16 DEX, and 12 CON. Even though this was supposed to get patched with Patch 8, the exact duplicate of the Skywin can still be found in Reithwin.
  4. If Branthos is killed during the convoy's ambush, Skywin can take the lead in talking to the player character instead and lead (or conclude) the quest.
  5. Skywin has no spell slots despite being a ranger, and cannot make use of her Cure Wounds spell.
  6. As of Patch 8, despite having Extra Attack, Skywin is not able to attack twice during her turns.
