Spit it up, Morghal. Or you busy choking on that True Soul Nere's prick with Thrinn?

Involvement[edit section | visual editor]

Act One[edit section | visual editor]

After boarding the boat from the Underdark beach, another boat captained by Corsair Greymon sails up alongside the party's boat. Greymon comes aboard, and the player character must pass a check or attack Greymon and his crew.

Passing a DC 15 Athletics Check DC 15 Athletics Check to push him into the water during the cutscene kills Greymon, sinking his corpse and inventory to the bottom of the sea, making both permanently inaccessible. This also initiates combat with the surviving duergar, and garners approval from Lae'zelLae'zel and AstarionAstarion.

In a chest aboard Greymon's skiff is the Intransigent Warhammer. If Greymon or a member of his crew is pushed into the water during battle, they wash up at the beach near the southern pier of the Decrepit Village.

Otherwise, Greymon can be convinced to let the party proceed, either by bringing Sergeant Thrinn'sSergeant Thrinn's boots back or by passing one of the following checks:

  • [BERSERKER] [INTIMIDATION] MOVE YOUR BOAT, OR SINK. MAKE THE CHOICE. (DC 10 Advantage Icon.png)
  • [INTIMIDATION] In the name of the Absolute - you will let me pass. (DC 10)
  • [DECEPTION] I saw a body left by the myconids - your 'Gekh' must be dead. (DC 15)
  • [DECEPTION] I'm afraid Gekh is dead - he fell fighting the myconids. (DC 15)
  • [BRANDED] [PERSUASION] Just let me cross - I have the brand, see? (DC 10)

Successfully convincing Greymon to let the party pass grants party members with the CharlatanCharlatan background the inspiration A Friend to AllA Friend to All. Defeating the duergar instead grants the inspiration Drowned in the DarkDrowned in the Dark to party members with the SoldierSoldier background.

If Greymon sails to Grymforge with the party, he moves to the area where deep gnome slaves are digging out NereNere and can be traded with. As a follower of the Absolute, he sides with Nere, if the party choose to fight him.
